Worldwide Festival Singapore has opened a contest for bands and solo musicians from around the Asia-Pacific region, which includes Shanghai, of course. The aim is to discover new and outstanding musical talent; an idea core to WF Music policies and also Gilles Peterson, who is the founder of this festival.

The contest is open to any genre of music as long it is high quality, ground-breaking music. To enter the contest the artists only need to register on this website, present their myspace and/or blog addresses, and ask their networks to vote via a widget. Later on the twenty most voted-for artists will be presented to a panel of music professionals led by Gilles Peterson, and the winner will perform at the WF Singapore on May 2009.
