Avril Lavigne was named “Canadian Ambassador of the 2010 World Expo Shanghai” in Vancouver last week. Will she be here for the event itself? Will she perform? Will she finally sing “Girlfriend” in Mandarin? Do I care?

No, I don’t. But she was made ambassador because of her enormous popularity over here, so it’s worth a mention.
