Rock 0093 3-Year Birthday, Part 2
The festivities continue with mostly more established bands, to wit: Joker, Little Nature, Momo, Five-pointed Star, Five Pence, New Vector, and Hanging Gardens. There’s some disagreement between the poster and the YYT pages on whose playing, but the YYT pages seem most recently updated, so I’m going with them.

Saturday:
Eat Naked Lunch
YuYinTang madness continues with an event organized by the fine folks over at Kungfuology, featuring beloved photographer Ren Hang, brought all the way from Beijing to show his stuff (on a projector), Booji, Duck Fight Goose, and DJ Sacco. That’s a lot of awesome!

Afro-Sonic + Joey Lu and the Polyphonics + Jam Session
Shanghai’s only afro-beat band takes to the JZ stage to try to funk the crowd and make them dance. Will they succeed? Nobody knows, but they’ll will fill the air with some bouncy funky shit. Joey Lu and the Polyphonics warm it up with some hard-bop arrangements, and the JZ Jam rolls the dice on transcendence. Two weeks ago they hit the jackpot with the visiting South African musicians. Will it happen again? JZ Club: a jazz thriller.

Sunday:
Mike Null and The Soulcasters + Jam Session
All reports have the Mike Null band tearing up the stage over there with their blues, and the jam sessions have been hot too. As always, jammers get half-price drinks, which is a major plus as HOB+J is pricey.
