Interviews, Photo Reviews:

Hedgehog’s Zo

April 18th, 2012 by and

Friday night and it was on at Yuyintang.

Layabozi came out early to welcome Beijing beasts Hedgehog and chat a little bit after their sound check. We got to sit down with Zo, the band’s lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter. It was a fun little conversation wherein Zo held court about the band’s inner dynamics, the backlash against Honeyed and Killed, the new album’s triumph, former bassist Box’s departure, his opinions on past and current bands, and why Hedgehog is now independent as fuck, among other things. We even touched on a few sore subjects he didn’t really want to talk about, but he was a good sport about it.

Later on, we checked out Hedgehog’s ripping set and got a bit rowdy. One of us dove off the stage and landed on all fours on concrete and then ended the night shirtless. We will let you guess which one that was.

All in all, it was a pretty good night, though. We thank Hedgehog for the tunes and Zo for his time. Check it out. It’s a pretty interesting interview and not too long. Zack on the blabbers, Mache on the snaps.
