Flying Lotus have become such powerful couple of words, don’t you think so? You mention them, and immediately people nods in aproval, and if there is anyone around that has not heard them before, then the others look at him/her shocked, either embarrasing the ignorant, or disturbing the unworried. Or it could even worst, like to find yourself sorrounded by people that has no idea of who he is, to fall into questioning your location, and land on a moment of revelations, or insights at least. Right?
He is one of those underground heroes that became known on the ground, and even though he is popular under the lights, he has prove to be strong enough to keep his mind and creativity untouched by the disturbing power of the sparks from crazy fame. So, we like him even more. Right?
I just passed by his wikipedia entry now, and I discovered he is somehow related to John Coltrane, that must be somehow related with the positive musical karma of Flying.
Well, you might know already he has a new album that is almost ready to be released. Until The Quiet Comes, is the follow-up of Cosmogramma, his latest album, released on 2010. Mr. Lotus himself, describes it as “a collage of mystical states, dreams, and lullabies”.
Until The Quiet Comes, features distiguished guests such as Eryka Badhu, Laura Darlington, and Thom Yorke, among others. The album release is set for October 1st, 2012 on Warp Records.
Mr. Lotus has planned a tour around the States, and Europe, to properly celebrate, and spread the word about Until The Quiet Comes. Find the dates below, if you are so lucky to be at any of these cities when he is playing, then do not miss it, book the tickets, and when you are there get some photos, and let us know how was it.
Finally, the powerful flower with delicious roots just released a killing mix “Lover’s Melt 3”, his intro to it: “Another mix for your summer, some things you know, some things you may not. Love”.
