Ziggurat Records, "Don't Lose Your High"

Just copped this via the homies at Sub-Culture. It’s a remix EP released by Ziggurat Records, a collective out of Brooklyn, NY, and Nashville, TN.

Of most interest to me was the first track, “Papaya Rap”. It was produced by Hamacide, featuring ChaCha, Blaise Deville, and Percee P. Throw this one on now.

Of course, Shanghai heads will be familiar with Hamacide, ChaCha, and Deville. However, the Percee P connect was exciting for me, as I really enjoyed his 2007 release, Perseverance, which was produced by Madlib for the Stone’s Throw Label. That was his breakthrough release, despite a career in hip hop that has almost spanned its history.

Check him out spitting off the dome with Fat Joe and, later, Eminem.

And cop this little EP. It’s a fun listen, and free.
