Yesterday saw the global release of an album by amazing piano players Chick Corea and Hiromi Uehara, their first recording together.
Originally released in Japan back in 2007, it became the top selling record of that year. Today only you can hear the first half of the double album. It includes originals from both Corea and Hiromi as well as four covers, including Thelonious Monk’s “Bolivar Blues” and Lennon-McCartney’s “Fools On The Hill.” The second disc features two originals from each and an adventurous meld of Joaquin Vidre Rodrigo’s classic “Concierto de Aranjuez” with one of Corea’s best-known tunes, “Spain”, which was included in Coco Zhao’s playlist.
