Red Rock Announces China Tour 2012

Jonathan Campbell and his book Red Rock: The Long Strange March Of Chinese Rock & Roll will tour China during March. Red Rock is conquering quickly more audience and coverage, and this support is really well deserved.

The book tells the story of rock in China since the very first moments that rock landed on the red land, the first moments that are saved in the collective conscience of those who are and have been part of the raise of yaogun (Chinese for rock) and who Campbell interviewed during the two years he worked recollecting this information.  Campbell’s recollection of memories and stories plus his own experience and reflections show a sensible description of the development of yaogun. Red Rock not only tells the story of yaogun, but also motivates by giving the right relevance to rock, music, and most of all to the musicians, producers, rock lovers and listeners involved through the years that rock has been happening in China.

Jonathan Campbell left China last year, and now he is coming back to China for this tour with his book. We can imagine just part of the thrill that should be for him to come back now and add new experiences with yaogun to his life, now through his book.

We’ll have soon more about Jonathan Campbell and Red Rock: The Long Strange March Of Chinese Rock & Roll on Layabozi. While check the tour dates and the links below.
