Warming up. A piece of what music did last weekend in Shanghai. (And about hormones)
It’s the US vs. the world in a July 4th vs. World Cup showdown for the ages, but wait, what’s that? Pesky Canada it’s sticking it’s nose in too?
One cool thing about the Expo so far is that different countries have been taking turns taking over the city, one week at a time. This week it’s Finland, but that’s not to say there isn’t local flavor going on at the same time.
In which “The Expo Strikes Back”! Also, dude, I’m OD’ing on gigs right now. Shanghai, are you trying to be a real music city or something?
Well hey, it looks like music spots aren’t closing after all, and there’s bunches of stuff going on, so enjoy it.
Also known as the best thing to come out of the Expo, so far.
Update: Now with the Anar Two Year Birthday Party and the Taylor Ho Bynum show, both on Sunday, in the comments. In which I take a break from writing a mind-blowing arrangement of the Love Radio 103.7 theme, with the only goal being to hip you all to this weekend’s awesomeness.
Outerspace Funk, KEIZOmachine!, a band battle, a new rock club, and the last C’s antidote? Check your weekend schedule here.
